We opened our doors in 2016, but the Bertolone’s story truly began in 1967 -- when Giuseppe “Joe” Bertolone returned to his hometown on the Italian Riviera and fell in love with Elvira, the vibrant young woman who would later become his wife. With a shared passion for old-world Italian cooking, the couple moved to California -- a new home and the perfect place to share the classic recipes they knew and loved. Now, their daughter Sonia is keeping her family’s tradition alive at Bertolone’s in downtown Clanton. Using fresh ingredients and Italian methods passed down through the years, we make our pasta, pizza, and homemade cakes from scratch. Most of all, we continue to do what our family has always done best: serving both delicious meals and warm smiles.
